Ann Thielen, age 80, of Toledo, passed away Friday, August 12, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born on April 13, 1931 to Richard and Edna (Whittaker) Hardenbrook in Toledo. Ann was a longtime member of Hope United Methodist Church. She was the President of the United Methodist Women, the Friendly Center and the Flower Hospital Guild. Ann also held various offices at the Friendly Center, the Flower Hospital Guild and at church. Ann was an avid reader and loved to sew, she use to make all of her children's clothing. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Earl Thielen and brother, James Hardenbrook. Ann is survived by her loving children, Sharyn (John) Mowka, of Lee's Summit, MO, James (Regina) Thielen, of Grove City, OH, Richard (Debra) Thielen, of Perrysburg and Amy (Lindsey) Whitehead, of Holland; grandchildren, Victoria (John), Catherine, Annie Rose, Mitchell (Trisha), Brad, Zack, Earlyn, Azaree and AnnAleada; great-grandchildren, Kyanna, John Preston and Noah.
The family will receive guests on Friday from 6 - 9:00 p.m. at Hope United Methodist Church, 4069 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo where Funeral Services will take place Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The Newcomer Funeral Home (419-473-0300) assisted the family with arrangements.
