Ann Mae Besase, age 100, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Franciscan Care Center. Ann was born on March 11, 1923, in Ottawa, Illinois, to the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Thiry) Ballou.
Ann lived in West Toledo most of her life. Ann met her husband, Samuel, while out dancing and the rest was history. She worked at home, caring for her family. Ann loved being in the kitchen and cooking delicious meals for her loved ones. She loved animals of all kind, especially dogs, and enjoyed her fair share of bowling back in the day. Ann's cooking, love, and smile will forever be missed by those who knew her. This isn't goodbye, but we will see you later...
Ann is survived by her step-children, Samuel Besase Jr. and Pat Karpinski; grandson, Robert Steinmetz Jr.; step-grandchildren, Jeff Besase, Greg Besase, Terri Karpinski-Paul, Mike Karpinski, and Dave Karpinski; and three nieces who adored Ann, Ada Cahill, Nancy Balough, and Tana Nagle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death and greeted in Heaven by her husband of 71 years, Samuel Besase Sr.; son, Bobby Stienmetz; and a brother, Armand Henry.
At this time there will be no services held.
