Anita L. McDermott

Anita McDermott age 76, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on February 22, 2025 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born in Parma, OH on June 7, 1948. 

 Anita was employed as a high school English teacher in the Toledo area. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She will be dearly missed. Anita had a flair for fashion, loved lounging by the pool in the summertime, cared greatly for her pets, delighted in cooking and hosting holiday events but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family. 

 She is survived by her husband, Michael McDermott; son, Sean McDermott; daughter, Shannon McDermott; grandchildren, Madison, Molly, Caitlin and Colin McDermott and Elizabeth and Louie Olah. She was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Lopez and sister, Linda Juratovac.

 A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo. (419-381-1900)
