Amy K. Harrel

Amy K. Harrel age 54 of Toledo, Ohio passed away on July 14, 2024 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Amy was born in Toledo on May 5, 1970. She was a 1988 graduate of DeVilbiss High School and went on to earn her Masters Degree in social work at Spring Arbor University.

Amy made friends everywhere she went and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She was respectful to all walks of life from janitor to manager.

Amy will be remembered as an avid animal lover of all shapes and sizes from elephants to spiders; educating herself about everything; motorcycles and travel were a huge love and interest in her life as well as fashion; she had a colorful and eclectic style all her own and was constantly complimented on by strangers

Surviving is her best friend and companion, Travis Carr; daughters, Elizabeth “Betsy” (Wes) Phillips and Cecilia Gray. Her proudest achievement was being Mimi to her 6 grandchildren: Jace, Kyler, Hadley, Marlowe, Tallulah, Rennon. Amy was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte; brother, Michael Gray and best friend, Tracey Schieb.

Family and friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel) 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 4-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Toledo Humane Society, 827 Illinois Ave. Maumee, OH 43537.
