Alma Ruth Keller-Dake

Alma Ruth Keller Dake went home on February 17, 2025 peacefully in her sleep after saying as she always did, "I Love You," to her children. Ruth was born on April 28, 1943 in Fayetteville, West Virginia. Her family moved Jackson, Michigan when she was 10, and when she learned to drive she never looked back going to college at Fort Wayne Bible College, Finally moving to Maumee, Ohio when she fell in love and married David P. Keller, Sr. in 1974.

 Alma lived a life of generosity and love for her family and everyone she met in her long career of teaching at East Auburn Elementary School, Toledo Christian, Stautzenberger and administering at Bible Temple Daycare. 

 Alma loved growing things, plants and children, She had great joy when grown students would greet her as if no time had past. She loved Jesus and travel where she would meet new friends. 

 She was preceded in death by her loving husbands, David P. Keller, Sr. and Robert E. Dake; her parents, Alonzo and Christine (Paitsel) Haney and her brother, Alonzo "Bud" Haney. 

 She is survived by her sons, David P. Keller, Jr. and his wife, Abigail (Shumer) and Gregory J. Keller and his wife, Rebekah (Shumer) and three lovely stepdaughters as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 Well done good and faithful servant, enjoy your well-deserved rest.

 The family will receive guests, Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The funeral will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
