Alice Schmidt was born July 4, 1934 in a humble log house in the Moose Mountains of SE Saskatchewan Her early years were spent there with her mother and father and 4 years later her brother Ralph in 1938 and another brother Les in 1944. She was homeschooled until 1946 when the family moved closer to the town of Arcola where the three attended school. Another brother, Doug, arrived in 1951. She graduated from Arcola school in 1952. After graduation she worked at a local grocery store until she left to attend the Christian and Missionary Alliance college in Regina, Saskatchewan ( Western Canadian Bible Institute at that time).
After graduation in the mid 50’s she went to the Kentucky hills with the Beefhide Gospel Mission where she spent about 20 years sharing the good news.
Next she worked for the CMA as secretary in the district office in Toledo until she transferred to the district office first in Chicago and then Greenbay.
In 2003 she retired from the CMA and took a job at the Data Service Center in Toledo where she worked until 2023. Retiring at the grand old age of 89 years!
She leaves many close friends and family in both Canada and the US. A life well and faithfully lived in so many ways .
She passed away peacefully at hospice in Toledo the morning of November 8, 2024
Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 1:30 pm at the First Alliance Church Toledo 2020 Monroe Street, Toledo, Ohio with Reverend Keith School, officiating.
