Alfred Frey

Alfred "Fritz" Frey, passed away peacefully December 25, 2014. Fritz retired from Great Lakes Corrugated in 2001. Born in Chillicothe, Ohio, Fritz loved to cheer on the Cincinnati Reds and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan through and through. When it wasn't game day, you could find him working in his garden. He was also an active member of St. Clement Parish. Shortly after graduation, Fritz joined the Army where he served 3 years.

Fritz is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy (Dennis) Frey; sisters, Anna Stout and Sue Brown; brother, Mike (Peggy) Frey; sisters-in-law, Pat Frey and Val Frey; children, Linda (Tim) Knerr, Nancy Ann (Dave) Reeves, John (Jen) and Andrew (Beth); grandchildren, Stephanie, Kathryn, Patrick, Abigail, Gus, Otto and Eden; and great granddaughter, Lily. Fritz was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Petrea Frey and his brothers, Thomas, Joe, Charles and Jim.

The family will receive guests Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Church, 3030 Tremainsville Road, Toledo. (Please meet directly at church)

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in Fritz's memory.
