Alfred C. "Al" Noller, Jr., age 78, of Lambertville, MI, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 20, 1930 to Alfred and Irma (Trotter) Noller, Sr. in Toledo. Al was a Machinery Sales Engineer for many years before retiring. He had been employed with Haughton Elevator, D & H Machinery, JC Machinery Mart and others. Al loved dogs and was an active breeder of Bassett Hounds. He was a longtime member the Bassett Hound Club of America, Maumee Valley Bassett Hound Club and the Toledo Kennel Club, where he was former president. Al was also a delegate to the American Kennel Club. He was a member of SME and Grace Lutheran Church for many years. Al was a former Boy Scout Troop Leader #133 at Augsburg Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Triad Masonic Lodge. He was an avid Detroit Red Wings and University of Michigan fan. Al loved to camp, go snowmobiling and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family.
Al is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Suzanne "Sue" Noller; children, Alfred " Mark" (Charyl) Noller, Ginger (Tom) Dankert, Martin (Marilyn) Noller and Christopher (Nancy) Noller; grandchildren, Aaron, Steve, Joseph, Mark, Peter (Kelly), Chad, Michael, Evan, Martin, Brittany and Alexis; 6 great-grandchildren; and brother, Gary (Sally) Noller.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will take place Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, 4441 Monroe St., Toledo at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Officiating will be Rev. Merlin Jacobs. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
