Albert Clyde "Mickey" McLaughlin, age 93, of Toledo, passed away Monday, May 11th, 2009 at Arbors at Oregon. He was born December 3rd, 1915 to Frank and Myrtle (Doan) McLaughlin in Toledo. Mickey was a U.S. Army Veteran serving his country proudly in Patton's 3rd Army in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII. He was also a recipient of a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his service. After returning from overseas Mickey began working for C&O Railroad and retired after 32 years in 1975 at the age of 60. He was a true sports enthusiast following baseball, as well as playing golf when he was able. Being one of 8 children, Mickey was a devoted husband and father cherishing the time spent with his family.
In addition to his parents, Mickey was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. (Duncan) McLaughlin; second wife, Dorothy McLaughlin; sisters, Verbal Symington and Frances Carter and brothers, Donald; George and Gordon McLaughlin. Mickey is survived by his loving son, Gary P. McLaughlin; sister, Myrtle Lee McLaughlin; stepdaughter, Kim (Kevin) Koluch; step-nephew, Rob (Jamie) Koluch and step-niece, Natalie (Aaron) Drozdowicz; sisters-in-law, Anne McLaughlin and Mary Ann McLaughlin.
At Albert's requests there will be no visitation and services will be private.
