Albert "Budd" Tifft Jr.

December 3, 1952 — September 6, 2024

Toledo

Albert “Budd” Tifft Jr., age 71, son of Albert and Wilma (Waddell)Tifft passed away September 6, 2024, with his family by his side.

Budd attended Dundee high school and he was an army veteran. Budd was an auto mechanic and the owner of Budd’s Expert Auto. He had a loyal customer base and there was nothing he couldn’t fix. Budd’s garage was more than a repair shop, it was a gathering place for friends and family, it was also his happy place in life. When customers stopped in they may have found him flipping burgers, simmering bean soup in the crock pot or cooking pumpkin for his famous pies and bread. You may even find him working on a car LOL. Baking and cooking was his relaxation. He won a cookoff before the NASCAR race at Michigan International Speedway which was sponsored by Smithfield meats, he was presented a hat by Richard Petty and also a free trip to cooking school in Richmond, Virginia. Budd loved golf, bowling, NASCAR, Fort Myers beach, Ohio State and the Detroit lions. He was the “Norm” of Venturas “where everyone knew his name”. Budd was a member of the Moose lodge #1579 and the Elks #1850. Budd enjoyed helping others, for 17 years he organized and hosted a charity golf outing for kids cancer care camps, these outings raised thousands of dollars for the charity. Budd also helped to organize the Daytona race party at the Elks each year.

Always quick to help, he will be missed by many for his outgoing personality, the gift of gab and his practical jokes.

Budd was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Daniell (Tifft) Andrews; son-in-law, Michael Andrews; sisters, Carole Thomas, Maria Cilley, and Robin Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn (Puccetti) Gossett; sister, Mary Sue Cilley; brother, David Tifft; stepsons, Jeffrey (Kibby) Gossett, Gary Gossett, and Michael Gossett; his grandson, Xander Tifft; along with four step-grandsons, Kyle, Austin, Tyler, and Matthew. Budd also had numerous nieces and nephews and cousins and friends. Thank you to his cousin, Kathy, and a special thank you to Chuck and Sherry Anderson whose tireless efforts made the impossible possible.
