Adelfo Verdin, age 81, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was born on September 12, 1938 to Guillermo Verdin Barrales and Jovita Ruiz Dominguez in Puebla, Mexico. Adelfo drove a bus in his younger years. He had a passion for gardening, both flowers and vegetables. Adelfo loved the Lord and to spread his word to guide others in the right direction to help save lives. He enjoyed nothing more than time spent with his family and grandchildren. Adelfo had a sense of humor that will be missed by all. His smile, spirit and caring nature will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Nathanael Verdin; siblings, Isabel Verdin, Eugenio Verdin, and Jesus Verdin. Adelfo is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ruth Verdin; children, Elizabeth (David) Rosas, Josue (Marisela) Camarillo, Israel (Noemi) Verdin, Rebeca (Benjamin) Trujillo, Abigail Verdin, Ruth Verdin, Esmeralda Verdin, Keyla (Luis) Ordonez, Esau (Ruby) Verdin, Jacob (Concepcion) Verdin, Bethsaida (Lazaro) Herrera, Jemima Verdin and Gaddiel (Marisol) Verdin; 47 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Arnulfa Verdin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 2 – 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo, OH 43617. Funeral Services will be private with Interment to follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
