Mrs. Addie Beatrice Coffey Davis

Addie B. Coffey Davis was born December 12, 1926 in Embry, Mississippi to the union of the late John Leslie and Julia Celeste Coffey.
Surrounded by her loving family and friends at the age of 95, Mrs. Addie B. Davis passed this life peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on July 20, 2022.
Mrs. Addie B. Davis is preceded in her passing by both parents; brothers, Arthur D. and John T. Coffey; sisters, Viola Flennoy, Bernice Smith, Lisa Hale, Louise Harris, Laura Jackson, Doris Mailey, Evelyn McGaughy and sister-in-law, Dorothy M. McCoy; her husbands, James Carroll, William Byrd and Robert Davis; and son, Dwight E. Carroll, Sr..
Mrs. Addie B. Davis confessed in Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Greater St. Mary's Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Walker. Later she became a member of Rhema Word Christian Fellowship Church, under the leadership of the late Ronald McCraney. Afterwards she rejoined Greater St. Mary's Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert Lyons until her illness.
Her formal education from first to eighth grades were in Turrell, Arkansas. She attended Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, Tennessee.
Mrs. Davis was employed for many years as an elevator operator at Tiedtkes Department Store. Her passion for poetry led to her writing a journal titled "My Poetry and My Thoughts." Mrs. Davis loved to bowl and travel. Most of her travels visiting her family and friends. Mrs. Davis never met a stranger, because of her passionate, generous, loving and spiritual nature.
Mrs. Addie B. Davis leaves to cherish her memory her son, Anthony J. Carroll; brother, James (Earlene) Coffey; sisters-in-law, Ora L. Wright, Ossie L. Coleman; daughter-in-law, Joyce Hayes; God-daughter, Patricia-Francois Purdie; grandchildren, Dwight E. Jr., Charnell, Delone Carroll Sr., and Toshona Hayes; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Ameenah, Sabreen, Ataa, Kaniyah, Delone Jr., TySean, DeShawn, and Shala Carroll, and Jeremy Moody; great-great-grandson, Kaysan Carroll. Her memory will be also treasured by a host of family, extended family and friends.
