Glenna Jean Kershner, age 83, formerly of Toledo, Ohio passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Hospice House in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born April 18, 1931 in Toledo, raised part time by foster parents, Horace and Violet Brown. Glenna married at a very young age and spent the next 20 years raising six children. When the youngest of the six children was 14 years old she went to work for PowerTrain, General Motors in Toledo for the next 19 years. Glenna lived in many different places. She was a very loving mother, wonderful wife of 65 years and the most caring, generous soul alive.
Glenna was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur R. Kershner; daughter, Deborah Geddes; mother, Edith (Franklin) Prows and foster sisters, Eileen Claspill and Betty Wonch. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, David R. Kershner, Dan E. Kershner, Doug A. Kershner, Dale G. Kershner and Denise (Philip) Sadowski; granddaughters, Leslie (Dave) Davis, Jessica (David) Perreault, Natalie (Kyle) Ricciarelli, Rachel Kershner and Lindsy (Brad) Canady; 11 great grandchildren and nephew, Paul Wonch (whom Glenna loved as her own children).
The family will receive guests Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral services will be held Monday, April 28, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
