Geraldine "Gerry" Woods

Geraldine “Gerry” Woods, age 88, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2024 at home. She was born on July 3, 1935 to Ted and Stella (Kwapich) Kasprzyk in Toledo. Gerry was a longtime, active member of Little Flower Parish for over 60 years. She was involved with retreats including; Cursillo, T.E.C., C.F.M., Renew, and P.A.L. Gerry loved to crochet, knit and sew throughout her life. She and her husband Ron loved the time spent with family and friends up in Coldwater, MI at the Lakehouse for over 33 years. They were also snowbirds in Florida for 21 years. Gerry enjoyed playing cards with family, especially 31 and Bug Your Neighbor. She loved being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gerry was an avid audio book listener and loved watching Columbo and Perry Mason. Her smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Ron; son-in-law, Dan Kretz; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Woods; and granddaughter, Jennifer Marie Woods.

Left to cherish Gerry’s memory are her loving children, Ric (Darlene), Al (Mary Beth), Cindy Kretz, Tina (Johnny) DeLeon, Jim (Angela) and Teri McGinnis; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph (Pam) Kasprzyk; sisters-in-law, Pat Greenich and Carol Inman; and many other family members and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Little Flower Parish, 5522 Dorr St., Toledo, OH 43615 with visitation on hour prior in church. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
