Ruth E. " Ruthie" Hall, age 89, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Lakes of Monclova with loving family by her side. She was born on October 30, 1934 to Joseph and Leora (Lemming) Williamson in Toledo. Ruthie graduated from Libbey High School. She was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed taking care of her family. Ruthie was a longtime member of the American Legion Adams Twp. Post #553 where she served in several positions over the years. She was always generous with her time, dedicated to helping others and anyone in need.
Ruthie was an avid reader, an excellent cook and thoroughly loved genealogy. She was a great bowler spending many years on a league with her daughter. She loved all dogs, especially German Shepherds and her last dog, her Shih Tzu, Snickers. Ruthie liked spending time with her family especially all of her grandchildren. Her smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard E. Hall; grandsons, Donald L. Brenner, Jr. and Gregory Hall; and several siblings. Left to cherish Ruth's memory are her loving children, Rebecca (Doug Merritt) Brenner and Mark Hall; grandchildren, Matthew (Christie) Brenner, Steffany (Steve) Sass, Stephen (Angie) Hall, Zachary Hall and Joshua Hall; 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park at 1:30 p.m. in the mausoleum.
