Franklin "Frank" Bodway, age 90, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 31, 2023. He was born on September 24, 1933 to Eugene and Maybelle (Blake) Bodway in Toledo. Frank was employed with Hausman Steel, and then DeVilbiss Co. until retiring when they closed. After retirement he worked security at UPS. In Frank's younger years he enjoyed bowling, gardening and bird watching. He loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren. Frank had a great sense of humor and caring heart. His smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Bodway; mother, Maybelle Funk; son, David Bodway; son-in-law, Doc Obrochta; siblings, Betty Hartson, Eugene Beaudoin, Ginny Penn, Dutch Funk, and Butch Funk. Left to cherish Frank's memory are his loving daughters, Aggie (Scott) Burtch and Karen Obrochta; grandchildren, Erik Burtch and Denise Burtch; nieces and nephews, Pat Smith, Bonnie Swan, Connie Palmer, Kathy (Randy) Spohn, Dan (Faye) Beaudoin, and Greg Beaudoin; many great-nieces, great-nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
