Beverly A. "Bev" Leverenz, age 84, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg with loving family by her side. She was born on May 8, 1939 to Lester and Jessie (Borchardt) Kosch in Toledo. Beverly worked as a school secretary for many years before retiring. She was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Bev was strong in her faith and loved her church family. For many years she was a foster parent caring for children, sometimes months or even years. Bev had a huge heart and it was evident in the kindness she was always showing to others.
She was an avid bowler participating in many leagues throughout the years. Bev enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, and baking. Her greatest passion was her family. She loved spending time with her children and all of her grandchildren. Bev's smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Jerry Leverenz; son-in-law, Jim Burnep; and brother-in-law, David Coffield. Left to cherish Bev's memory are her children, Gerald Leverenz and Jill (John) Burnep-Hughes; grandchildren, Kari (Ken) Leverenz, Tari Jo (John) Jauregui, Jami (Ryan) Romstadt, Jodi Burnep, Jada Clingo, and Jessi (Zach) Burnep; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter on the way; siblings, Darlene Coffield and Wayne (Colleen) Kosch; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
