Donald F. Christy, Jr.

Donald F. Christy, Jr., age 89, of Toledo, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023 at Kingston Care Center, Sylvania. He was born on December 1, 1933 to Donald F. Sr. and Eleanor (Shoemaker) Christy in Toledo. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country proudly in the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a boiler operator with Sylvania Schools for over 24 years before retiring. His hobbies included golfing and fishing in any spare time he could. Don also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. His smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Juanita Christy in 1982, and Shirley Christy in 2007; and brother, Bill Christy. Left to cherish Don's memory are his loving son, Jim (Jenny) Christy; grandsons, Tyler and Logan Christy; and sister-in-law, Sharon Christy.

The family will receive guests on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd., Toledo, OH 43617 (419-392-9500) with Memorial Services beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
