David M. Slivinski

David M. Slivinski, age 55, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at home. He was born on July 18, 1968 to Adam and Evelyn Slivinski in Toledo. He had a passion for heavy metal rock music, writing lyrics and playing the guitar; while attending Whitmer High School, he played bass in a local band. He was an avid sports fan, especially of World Cup Soccer, the Cleveland Browns, and the University of Michigan Wolverines. An excellent cook, he will be remembered for his lasagna and his chili. Dave loved spending time with his friends and family and his ready smile, quick wit, generous spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish Dave's memory are his loving wife of 28 years, Stephanie Slivinski; cherished cat, Luka; brothers, Alan Slivinski, Tim (Caleb ben-Avram) Slivinski, and Gary (Robert Church) Slivinski; nephew, Nick (Jessica) Slivinski; in-laws, Rickey and Vicki Horn; sister-in-law, Stacy (Scott) Valentine; and many dear friends and extended family.

There will be no visitation at this time for Dave. A "Rocking of Life" for Dave will be held at a later date. Newcomer Funeral Home assisted the family with professional services (419-473-0300).
