Sandra Sue Lyell

Sandra "Sandy" Sue Lyell, age 82, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away October 10, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family. She had been diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) 4 years prior. Sandra was born August 19, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio, and raised in Sylvania, to the late Max and Mildred (Ford) Barricklow.

Sandy graduated in 1959, from Burnham High School. She met Jim, her husband of 62 years, at Centennial Quarry. Sandy worked at Toledo Memorial Park for 36 years. She retired at age 70 to further pursue her love of golfing, traveling, dinner with friends, wineries, Broadway shows, and gambling. She was a long-time member of the Conn-Weissenberger Women's Auxiliary, serving as Treasurer for many of those years.

Along with her husband, Jim Lyell, she is survived by children, Laurie Lyell, Bruce (Kristen) Lyell, Dawn Lyell, and Ann (Tom) Guyton; grandchildren, Patrick Lyell, Alex (Chelsea) Lyell, Chelsea Lyell, Kyle (Megan) Carter, Nate (Nikki) Carter, Alex (Matt) Galek, Kara Guyton, Jake Guyton, Charlie Guyton and Oliver Guyton; great grandchildren, Ezra Carter, Eleanor Carter, Vivienne Guyton, and Lilly Carter; siblings, Sharon (Ron) Solly, Gary (Terri) Barricklow, and Rick (Kati) Barricklow; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Mildred Barricklow.

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623 on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be private and she will be laid to rest at Toledo Memorial Park.
