Regina Marie Smith

Regina Marie Smith, age 71, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away October 1, 2023, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Regina was born November 6, 1951, in Toledo, to the late Stanislaus and Sophie (Sobkowiak) Wierzbicki.

Regina graduated from Whitney High School, class of 1969. She worked as a legal secretary for Lucas County for many years and recently worked at Dollar Tree for 5 years. With her love for reading, she loved volunteering at the Lucas County Library. Regina was a lover of all animals, was a great cook, and enjoyed her fair share of watching cooking and home improvement shows. Most of all, family was most important. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her love, smile, sarcasm, and dry sense of humor will forever be missed by those who knew her. This isn't goodbye, but we will see her again!

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving children, Stephanie Smith, Nathan Smith, and Andrew Smith; grandchildren, Marianna and Isabelle; brothers, Zygmunt (Cynthia) Wierzbicki and Thomas (Sue) Wierzbicki; sister-in-law, Margaret Wierzbicki; her fur baby, Tangelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Regina was preceded in death and greeted in Heaven by her brother, Richard Wierzbicki.

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 11:00 am until the time of her memorial service at 1:00 pm.
