Gina Karen Wilson, age 63, of Toledo, passed away July 31, 2023 at 10:04AM. Gina was born October 5, 1959 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Ronald and Dorothy (Ratliff) Boggs. She was employed with the United States District Court - Eastern District of Michigan as a Judicial Assistant for Magistrate Judge R. Steven Whalen. She retired in 2013.
In addition to her Father, Ronald, and Father-in-Law, Robert E. Wilson, Gina was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Wesley Robert Wilson. She is survived by her Daughter and best friend, Britni (Kevin) Wilson-Carleton, Mother, Dorothy Boggs, Brothers, Ronald and Timothy Boggs, her sister-in-law, Ellen (Greg) Stone and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Gina's Birthday, Thursday, October 5, 2023 in Toledo, Ohio. Event details, time and location soon to be announced.
Gina was a remarkably loving, kind and compassionate woman, mother and friend to many. As a widow and single mother, Gina defied the odds and raised her daughter, Britni, to be the resilient, strong and caring woman that she is today. Gina instilled in Britni that it isn't "what" we have in life that matters most, yet rather it is the LOVE we give to one another that determines the quality of our journey here on earth. No matter the challenges that Gina may have faced throughout her life, she overcame each and every one with grace, while never compromising the love and care of her family and friends along the way. She provided encouragement to the hopeless. She was a mother to the motherless. A light and pillar of strength for all who were blessed to know and love her. Gina's courage, strength and sincere empathy towards others will always remain an inspiration to each and every one of us.
Throughout her life, Gina was a passionate animal advocate and supported her daughter, Britni's, animal welfare efforts with The Compassionate Village, a 501(c)3 nonprofit animal rescue in Toledo, Co-Founded by Britni. Gina volunteered her time and energy as a loving foster for several cats and kittens over the years with the organization.
