Betty J. Lane

Betty J. Lane, age 98, passed away July 2, 2023. Born to the late William and Martha (Blaser) Cook in Toledo, OH. Beloved wife of 46 years to the late Melvin C. Lane. They married September 15, 1945. Mother of Deborah Kleckner and Suzan (Craig) Conger. Grandmother of Samuel Saar and her favorite dog, "Simon Howl". Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother William and his wife Marjorie Cook.

Betty attended Harriett Whitney High School and graduated in 1943. She worked as a castings operator and blueprint filing clerk for Doehler-Jarvis, for a total of 35 years. Betty's daughters recall her devotion to St. Lucas Lutheran Church here in Toledo. As a Sunday school teacher, she impacted many lives through her years teaching with the church. Later in life, Betty was a member of the All Thumbs Quilters through St. Petri Lutheran Church where she would help sew quilting squares in aid of the Lutheran World Relief. She was also a member of the Auxiliary through St. Luke's Hospital, where she knitted hats for babies and participated in the fundraising.

A visitation will held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a service directly to follow on Friday, July 14, 2023 at St. Petri Lutheran Church at 3120 S Byrne Rd, Toledo, OH 43614.

Betty will be laid to rest at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
