Mary J. Crahan

Mary J. Crahan, age 93, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Merit House Senior Community. The daughter of Herman and Mary Shull, she was born April 29, 1930 in Toledo. She was a 1948 graduate of Scott High School. She attended the Toledo Conservatory of Music for short time before attending Davis Business College. She married William "Bill" Crahan in 1949. Mary began her career with the City of Toledo Building Inspection Department as a secretary before retiring. She enjoyed reading, listening to Opera music, Dean Martin and Rat Pack bunch, and listening to the Yankee's games. Mary could not go without watching her Lawrence Welk.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Richard) Hassen, Sharon Stevens, Thomas Crahan; 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill and son-in-law, Robert Stevens.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home-Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). The family will also receive friends on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the Historic Church of St. Patrick 130 Avondale Toledo, OH 43604 from 10:-11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
