Robert Wesley Powell Gaston Jr.

Robert Wesley Powell Gaston Jr., was born on February 20, 1974 to his beloved parents Robert Louis and Patricia Gaston. He was born in Queens, NY. As an Airforce baby, Wesley was raised in California and his parents eventually moved to Toledo, OH, where he attended Scott High School.

Robert was full of life and loved to have fun. You could often find him debating with his family and friends. He was a die-hard Boston Celtics, San Francisco 49ers and UCLA Bruins fan. He would argue up and down about how much better his teams were.

Robert lived for a short time in Orlando, Florida where he attended Holy Trinity COGIC. Once he moved backed to Toledo, he was an avid Facebook member of Holy Trinity and it was apparent by the posts on his social media account. His favorite term in everything was "God at Work". He truly believed that it was God who was the orchestrator of his life.

Robert never met a stranger and would make everyone feel like family when he came in contact with them. He loved to help people and participated in community service events in Ohio and Florida. Robert loved his family whether biological or those he claimed as family.

Robert departed this world on June 16, 2023 and leaves to cherish his memories, his parents: Robert and Patricia Gaston, four sisters; Sheryl Gaston, Demetra (Jeffery) Williams, Antonique Gaston and Janice Gaston, one daughter; Ashlee Mitchell, three nephews; Demetrious, Yahcob and Jeffery (Trey), and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends, and classmates.

Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Sunday, June 25, 2023, from 1:00 pm until the time of his funeral at 2:00 pm.
