Danny J. Brown

Danny J. Brown, resident of Toledo, OH, passed away on March 27, 2023 at age 71. Son of the late Lamar and Henrietta (nee Saar) Brown. Beloved husband of Sara Martinez-Brown. Cherished father of Melody (Ben) Godwin, David (Susan) Brown, Daniel (Sarah) Brown-Martinez, Joel Brown. Beloved grandfather of Sierra Godwin, Romeo Martinez, Ben Godwin II, Jordyn Brown, Brady Brown, Bryce Brown, Isabella Godwin, Noah Brown Collingwood, and Jacob Martinez. Brother of Judi (Harry) Kwiatkowski, Cindy Brown, Anthony Brown, and the late Gary Brown, Bonnie Richardson, and James Brown.

Danny was born in Toledo, Ohio and attended Waite High School. After graduating, Danny entered the United States Army in 1970, with his childhood friend, David Killian. He proudly served his country as a UH-1 Huey Mechanic. He also was in active combat in the Vietnam War, and awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze Service Stars; army commendation medal; marksman M-16 expert. Later in life, Danny worked for Dana Corporation and Calphalon for a combined total of over 38+ years. He also enjoyed loud music around the house, including genres like Motown, Jazz and even Selena. Danny loved spending time with his cats. He loved anything related to aviation, especially going to air shows. A few of the fond memories Danny's children have is spending time with dad and going camping at East Harbor State Park. He will be greatly missed by his family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Toledo Humane Society in Danny's honor.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614.
