Mary Kathrine Jones was born on June 26, I956, to the union of Mary and Raymond Patterson in Toledo. Mary was called home surrounded by her loving family on March 3,2023. Mary was preceded in her death by her Grandparents George and Alice Sparks, Parents Raymond and Mary Patterson, Brother Raymond E. Patterson, Sisters Myra, and Marcia Patterson.
Mary attended Jessup W. Scott High School. Mary later received her G.E.D and married Eddie Jones where they would spend over 20 years together.
Mary was a loving mother to her children: Deirdre Joyner, Kathrine Fizer, Kelly Hand, and son Eddie King. Bonus sons Jeffery Joyner, Gregory Fizer II, and
Fred Hand. Mary Loved the Lord and enjoyed reading her Bible. Mary extended her love to children in need of a safe space and a loving home by becoming a foster parent to 3 children.
Mary was the kind of lady that would not hesitate to help you in your time of need. She would open her home to feed you and allow a place for peace for a short time and I do mean a short time.
Mary was a devoted homemaker while her children were young. When her children became more independent Mary wanted to make her own money. She was employed by various employers such as Sears, The Commissary at the Coast Guard base on Governors Island in New York, Check-n-Go, and in Security. She found her passion working as a STNA at various nursing homes throughout Toledo including Foundation Park, Waterford Commons, and many others. She spent her final working years at Joys Adult Care Home for nearly 10 years as a Direct Care Worker.
Mary was the firecracker you needed at any event. She knew how to make the most out of any moment. She enjoyed spending time with her family and Friends. Mary hosted many gatherings for cookouts and celebrations. Mary lived her life her own way unapologetically.
Mary gained a passion for traveling to other countries such as Spain, Italy, and the Bahamas. She often took trips with her good friend Amanda (Joy) Banks and sister-in-law Yolanda (Toot) Ezell. After investing a lot of sweat and tears Mary became a homeowner. She took pride in knowing her hard work finally paid off.
