June Kimura's life journey ended on March 3, 2023. She was a Scott High School graduate and spent her career traveling the world working for the U.S. State Department. Some of her destinations included India, Kuwait, Burma, Pakistan, Vietnam, Thailand, and Argentina. Her four-legged travel companion for many years was her poodle, Casey. June enjoyed spending time in Hong Kong and indulging in one of her favorite pastimes - shopping.
After retiring, she spent time with family. She traveled with her sister and friends. June was often the big winner at the family poker games and was known to spend time playing penny slots at the local casino. She was an avid college basketball fan, rooting for the Duke Blue Devils and Toledo Rockets. She also enjoyed watching NBA basketball and tennis.
June was a big fan of Bruce Springsteen and jumped to her feet when he took the stage at one of his concerts. June loved good food, especially homemade sushi and Indian cuisine. She was always open to trying any new food. She was small in stature, but a fighter having overcome many health challenges and fending off a would-be mugger.
