Margaret Jaynes

Margaret Jaynes, age 82, of Maumee, OH, passed away February 28, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital. Margaret was born July 14, 1940 in Roebling, NJ, to John and Mary Lockett. She was employed with the Maumee Library for more than 35 years retiring in 2007. Margaret was an avid reader hence her long commitment to the Library. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was also preceded in death by brothers, John, Tommy and George; sisters, Mary and Ann. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Donald Howard Jaynes; children, Michael (Erin) Jaynes, Jacqueline Jaynes, and David (Sally) Jaynes; grandchildren, Sean and Caitlin; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Kayson; siblings, Julie and Evelyn; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family will receive guests Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church 112 E. Wayne Street Maumee, OH 43537. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Maumee, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Library and/or Library Legacy Foundation in Margaret's memory.

The family would like to thank the ICU team at St. Luke's Hospital for their care and compassion. A special thank you to a dear family friend, Laurie Erford, for her help over the years.
