Carol S. Dunning

Carol S. Dunning, age 81, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Ebeid Hospice Residence surrounded by loving family. She was born on May 4, 1941 to Alvin and Dorothy (Amstutz) Hamann in Tecumseh, Michigan. Carol was a 1959 graduate of Britton-Macon High School. She moved to Toledo where she met her husband, Robert Dunning, and started her family. Carol was an avid reader, loved word search puzzles and playing the piano. She still enjoyed her monthly get-togethers with her high school girlfriends. Carol loved taking care of kids with an in-home daycare. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family especially her grandchildren; they were the light of her life. Carol's smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank A. and Michael D. Hamann. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Bob Dunning; children, Amy (Glenn) Meiring, Frank (Kathy) Dunning and J. Darin Pizzato; grandchildren, Benjamin Meiring, Matthew Meiring, Rebecca Dunning, Robert Dunning, and Jack Dunning; and many dear friends.

There will be no visitation and services for Carol were private. Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300) assisted the family with professional services.
