Kenneth "Ken" E. Perry I, age 84, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away and went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2023. Kenneth was born July 30, 1938, in Dresden, Tennessee, to the late Xolon and Lillie (Norman) Perry.
Kenneth graduated from Jackson High School and then continued his education at Davis College. He proudly served in the United States Army. Ken worked at Western and Southern, Sylvania Savings, Farmer's Savings, and then Huntington, until his retirement in 2007. He was part of the Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce as well as a Sylvania Township Clerk. A man of faith, Ken was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he was chairman of the finance committee, visitation ministry, and served as Deacon. An avid golfer, he was a member of Legacy Golf Course and president of Par Busters Golf League for 46 years. Ken hunted Michigan deer season for 55 years. Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving children, Monica (Ryan) Andrews, Kenneth Perry II (Dana), Amy (Tim) Linville, Sharon (Eric) Plenzler, and JC (Jessica) Perry; grandchildren, Emily, Jack, Kenny III, Kelsey, Jordan, Sydney, Zechariah, Braden, Emma, Jake, and Jayne; great grandchildren, Lily, April, CoraBelle, and one on the way, Ryder; sister, Joyce (Bob) Lake; and brother, Donald (Jean) Perry.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death and greeted in Heaven by his wife of 60 years, Diane (Cross) Perry; and two sisters, Gene Thomas and Mary Farrell.
Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral at 12:00 pm. A private family burial will take place at Toledo Memorial Park, where he will be laid to rest next to Diane.
