Robert Raymond Carnes, age 78, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on November 23, 2022, at The Toledo Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born on September 1, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Aldred and Rowena (Zerbe) Carnes.
Robert proudly served in the United States Navy. He had worked at Jeep in Toledo, where he retired in 1991. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed bowling, which he bowled on the Lance Dental league. He loved taking road trips and traveling. A few places being: California, Canada, Florida, and Las Vegas. Robert loved to cook anything and everything. He always looked forward to cooking delicious meals for thanksgiving. Roberts love and smile will forever be remembered and he will truly be missed by all who knew him. This isn't goodbye, it's see you later…
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his life partner since 1971, Tim Horning; daughter, Cathryn (Brian Martin) Carnes; grandchildren, Samantha Thomas, Jami Thomas, Karis Thomas, Rebecca Thompson, and Justin Thompson; sister-in-law, Louise Carnes; nephew, Alan Carnes; and nieces, Amy Thompson and Annie Hauser.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Thomas; and brother, Donald Carnes.
