Ray Edward Scott, Jr., age 75, of Toledo, passed away November 14, 2022 at his home. He was born October 6, 1947 in Newark, OH to Ray, Sr. and Lenore (O'Connell) Scott. Ray served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a radio operator. He was a railroad engineer for over 30 years, retiring from Amtrak. Ray was a member of the Free Masons in Newark, OH. He loved his "cabin in the woods" aka "Someday Acres," the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals.
In addition to his parents, Ray was also preceded in death by his spouse, Sharon Scott; daughter, Lenore Scott; grandson, Hunter Cooper; sister, Charlotte Scott-Dawson and brother, John Scott. He is survived by his partner, Cindy L. Lloyd, son, Tyson Scott; daughter, Amy (Robert) Cooper and son, Ray (Heather) Scott, III; sister, Kay Press, grandchildren, Austin Dempsey, Kirin Scott, Kyleigh Scott, Tyler Scott and Morgon Cooper and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests Friday, November 18, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Newark Memorial Gardens, Newark, Ohio.
