Barbara Ann Howard

Barbara Ann Howard, age 88, of Toledo, passed away November 4, 2022. She was born the daughter of the late William and Oda (Ward) Smotherman in Toledo on April 11, 1934.
Barb married the love of her life, Ernie, on June 7, 1952, and together they enjoyed traveling, going to her favorite restaurants, and raising their family. She loved spending her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cheering them on at various sporting, theater, and music events. She also enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, University of Kentucky Wildcats, the Boston Red Sox, and playing with her grand-dogs. Barb loved every person that she met, including her dialysis family, and everyone loved Barb; she will be missed by all.
In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Ernie; siblings, Thomas Smotherman, Betty Jean Foster, Burl Smotherman. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michelle (Tom) Grochowski, Melanie (Paul) Hanus, and Thomas (Patricia) Howard; grandchildren, Brad (Kristin) Grochowski, Destinie (Jeremy) Larson, Amanda (Keith) Scasny, Sarah Howard, Melissa (Michael) Toth, Kyle (Stacy) Howard, and Brett (Samantha) Howard; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Garrett, Brady, Bryson, Avalynn, Callie, Keegan, Raelyn, Cameron, Sparrow, Myla, and Charlie; sister, Marylene Gossert; sister-in-law, JoAnn Sandefur; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life honoring Barb at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Faith Baptist Church, 6245 Whiteford Center Rd, Lambertville, MI 48144.
