Jack J. Smith, age 45, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, November 3, 2022. He was born April 11, 1977 in Toledo to Jack Mackey and Donna (Lambrecht) Smith. He graduated from Northview High School, Class of 1995. During high school, Jack was a State Champion for Wrestling. After graduation he moved to Indiana and received his Associate Degree in Diesel Mechanics. After some career searching, Jack found his calling in Real Estate, starting his own company, "Granny Ginny Real Estate" named after his beloved Grandmother. He operated his business for 12 years, owning several properties all over the Toledo area.
Jack enjoyed EDM Festivals, traveling to Las Vegas and other areas to be a part of the exciting environment. He had dreams of moving to Las Vegas. Being an athlete early in life, he enjoyed following several sports teams, including the Miami Dolphins, the Las Vegas Raiders and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. In his younger years he was dedicated to staying fit, so workouts were a daily event. He especially enjoyed the early morning workouts with his son, Terry. Other enjoyable times with Terry included many trips to Cedar Point.
Jack enjoyed walks through area parks appreciating the time to feel close to nature and his dogs and clearing his mind of his daily routines and work schedules. Another favorite activity was watching classic thriller movies like Friday the 13th and Jaws. He also enjoyed MMA.
Jack was a wonderful cook, making anything from Chili to Chicken Soup with fresh vegetables from his own garden. Living a healthy life was important to him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Virginia Kiefer; brother, Steve Mackey and his canine companions, Elvis and Pricilla. Jack is survived by his son, Terrance (Jean) McKenna; parents, Donna Smith and Jack (Barb) Mackey; brothers, David Smith, Larry (Kerrie) Smith and Jay Mackey; sisters, Pam and Tammy Sue Mackey; aunt, Kathleen LeRoux and uncle, Michael (Brigitte) Lambrecht.
