Bert L. Houston, 74, of Swanton, passed away November 2, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo. Bert was born November 1, 1948 in Toledo to Edward and Gladis (Hartson) Houston.
He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served his country for several years before being honorably discharged. Bert was a true outdoorsman; he enjoyed spending his time on the river fishing with his children. He had a love for racing. Most of all, Bert treasured the memories made while spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jim (Bobbie), Julie (Fred), Laura (Craig), Gary (Jenny), Scott (Cherie), Jenny (Marissa), Shelley (Ross); grandchildren, Autumn, Shylie, Troy, Tyler, Heather, Megan, Justine, Michelle, Brittany, Gary, Kelly, Mikayla, Devin, Leona, Morgan, Keegan, Shelby; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bud (Shirley) and Bill (Liz); and many nieces and nephews.
Bert was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Diane; and sister, Janie (Ray).
The family will receive guests Monday, November 7, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) where Funeral Services will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in Bert's memory.
