Margaret Lucille Johnson

Margaret Lucille Johnson, age 84, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away and went to be with the Lord on, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 29, 1938, in Valley Bend, West Virginia, to the late Edward Forest and Mabel May (McGee) George.

In her earlier years, Margaret worked as a hairdresser. In her later years, she worked as a book keeper for Charter One Bank. Margaret was very active in Willoughby Baptist Church, where she enjoyed listening to the gospel music, sang in the choir and assisted with the churches sound system. Margaret and her family moved to Toledo and began attending First Baptist Church of Perrysburg. Most of all, Margaret loved and adored the time spent with her grandchildren. Her love and smile will forever be missed by those who knew her. It's not goodbye, it's see you later…

Those left to forever cherish her memory are her daughter, Mary (Raymond) Harmacinski; granddaughter, Heather (Matthew Rachow) Draime; granddaughter-in-law, Sara Philips; step-grandson, Anton Harmacinski; great-grandchildren, Selena Harrison, Kaylee Burghardt, Lauren Burghardt, Devin Burghardt and Trinity Draime; great great-granddaughter, Serenity Rose; step-great-grandchildren, Luther, Michela, Damien James, Amanda, David James, Madison, Xavier, Olivia and Riley; step-great, great granddaughters, Aleah, Allison, Evelyn; step-great, great grandson, Clarity; siblings, Edward Junior George, Wanda Watson, Everett George, and Donald George.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Lawrence David Johnson; her son, John David Johnson; grandson, John Eugene Philips, Jr.; step granddaughter, Holly Zimmer; siblings, Ruby George, Ronald George, Thomas George, Phyllis Zirkel, and Harriet Wiseman.

Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, Ohio 43614, on Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, at the funeral home, at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Maumee, Ohio, where Margaret will be laid to rest next to Lawrence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
