Cindy Earlene Rooks, 62, better known as "Aunt Cin," passed away peacefully on Saturday September 3, 2022. She was born to the late Earl and lona Frost, Dec. 16, 1959, in Toledo, OH.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. Famous for saying, "One man's junk is another man's treasure," she was able to pick out the most unique items and antiques. This was a trait she much acquired from her mother, good ol' Gran. There wasn't a knickknack, tool, food, or item of clothing she wouldn't give up for a neighbor, family member, or person in need. Her heart was so big, she would even give up her last Pepsi if needed. So, although she is leaving behind a hell of a lot of stuff her daughters have no idea what to do with, it helps to remember the place of generosity for which these piles of stuff have accumulated. Because Cindy wasn't so much stocking up for what she might need for herself, but for what others might need. Those needs warmed her heart and filled her home. Cindy loved "cooking for an army," fishing at Big Bower Lake, Little Debbies + fat doobies, watching Svengoolie, listening to oldies, dark chocolate, an ice-cold beer or Pepsi on a hot day, "tall, dark & handsome" men, Marlboro Menthols, Jose and Christian Brothers. She hated liars and being "Harley'd" on. Not necessarily in that order.
Cindy is greatly missed and survived by her children: Lacie (Jeff) Villegas of California, Kelsi (Gavin) Hoying of Florida; grandchild Remi; and 4 brothers: Al Frost, Earl "Chip" (Bev) Frost, Jerry (Claudia) Frost, and Ricky (Eileen) Frost; tons of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Iona Frost, brother Gary Frost and brother Roger "Pete" Frost.
A celebration of life will be held at Wildwood Preserve Metropark 5100 Central Ave. Toledo, OH 43615 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
