Charles Alan "Charlie" Heckert, Jr., 41, of Toledo, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio after battling throat cancer. Charles was born March 5, 1981 in Toledo to Charles and Peggy (Price) Heckert, Sr.
He worked for I.A.T.S.E. as a stage hand since he was 18 and loved what he did. Charlie was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed fishing. He had a special place in his heart for his pets, especially his Callie Mae. Family was most important to Charlie, and he treasured the memories made with them.
Left to forever cherish his memory is his loving wife who has been by his side for 11 years, Amanda Heckert; children, Tyler Heckert-Heath, Kris Beck, Ariel Heidt, Kayley Heckert; step-children, Skye McFarland, Arianna and Alex Loney; mom, Peggy (Gary Perlinski) Heckert; mother-in-law, Marsha Heidt; siblings, Michele Hunt, Robert Heckert, and Nichole Heckert; grandbaby coming in March of 2023; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved furbaby, Callie.
Charlie was preceded in death by his dad, Charles Heckert, Sr.; grandson, Maddox; nephew, Christian Albain; and granny, Elizabeth Sams.
The family will receive guests Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900), where a Celebration of Life will begin at 5:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in Charlie's memory.
