Thomas John Schmitt II (TJ) of Oregon, Ohio.
Thomas was born in Toledo, Ohio, at the Toledo Hospital on October 14, 1980. Sadly, he passed on July 17, 2022 at the age of 41. Leaving us all much too soon. Thomas was a resident of both Cape Coral, Florida and Toledo, Ohio
Thomas proudly served in the US Navy from 1999 to 2005 in Patron Five as an Electronic Equipment Repairman and A Weapons System Technician and earning many awards during his career including Navy Good Conduct, National Defense Service Medal, NATO Kosovo Campaign Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3), Battle "E" Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal.
Thomas attended The University of Toledo for Mechanical Engineering
Thomas held various sales jobs with the last being at City Wide Auto of Toledo Ohio. He was very proud of his accomplishments and had recently become one of their top salesmen, earning him a bigger desk and we all know Thomas could sell ice to an Eskimo.
Thomas was very active in the recovery community which he held very dear to his heart, and all the people he met along his journey.
Thomas saw the world in a different way than everyone else, but could always explain things in a way all of us could understand. He had a crazy sense of humor and was hilarious, always making jokes, doing crazy dances, and making the funniest faces. His love for his children was the most obvious to everyone who ever met him, he loved each one of them with every fiber of his being.
Thomas never met a stranger
Thomas was preceded in death by his late father Thomas John Schmitt of Cape Coral, Florida. He is survived by his mother Cindee Weaver (Vijay) of Toledo Ohio; his maternal grandmother Darlene Castor of Toledo, Ohio; his children Thomas John Schmitt III, Isabella Schmitt, Ameilia Schmitt, Ellinore Schmitt, Francesca Schmitt, and Evalyn Schmitt (Caroline Violet); his ex-wife Stephanie Schmitt (m2000-2018); his loving girlfriend and her children Stephanie Futrell (Bronsan, Alexis, Braxton); siblings, Rikki Barnes, Madeline Schmitt and Sydney Schmitt, Emily Schmitt, Faith Schmitt, Hayden Schmitt; step parents, Nancy Schmitt, Jeff Smith, and Windy Schmitt; aunt, Patti Leverenz; cousins, Jeff and Elizabeth Leverenz; two special pets, Girly and Bob; and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to be made to the VA or Midwest Recovery in Toledo Ohio in Thomas's name.
The family will receive guests Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. 419-381-1900.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midwest Recovery Center in Thomas's memory.
