Neiko Meikhi Lamont McIntyre, age 16, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 30, 2022. He was born on October 25, 2005 to Seffan Hoskins and Christopher McIntyre in Toledo. Neiko was a sophomore at Whitmer High School. He was active and played football and basketball. As a child he received many awards from the Whittier Jets Football Team and G7AAU for his outstanding performance. He will forever be remembered as the "Gentle Giant". Neiko enjoyed playing video games; NBA 2K, Call of Duty and Fortnite with his brothers. He loved cooking, his favorite foods being seafood and soul food. Neiko was a jokester, but also very serious. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Neiko liked music, mainly rap and would often be caught singing and "rapping". He was talkative, energetic, very giving and liked helping others. Neiko always looked forward to the yearly vacations in Massachusetts and the McIntyre Family Reunions. He was also very protective of his siblings and would do anything for them. Neiko's smile, spirit and caring nature will deeply be missed by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by grandmother, Paulette McIntyre; grandfathers, Steve Crumby and Edward Esko; and uncles, Emmanuel Luster and Erick Crawford. Left to cherish Neiko's memory are his loving parents, Christopher and Amanda McIntyre; siblings, Myreiona Hoskins, Kaayla McIntyre, Jamee Hoskins, Jordan Young-McIntyre, Jae'lyn Patterson-McIntyre, Gabriella McIntyre, and Tristan McIntyre; great-grandmothers, Ada Hawkins, Mary Foster, and Barbara Jackson; grandparents, James and Cheryl McIntyre, Annette Hoskins, Wendy Esko; aunts, Lajuanda McIntyre, Nakeya McIntyre, Sabrina (Jermain) Clarke, Leticia Sanders, Nicole (Antonio) Russell, Mia Luster, Julia (Jared) Esko-Powell and Elizabeth Esko; uncles, Eric (Caitlyn) Esko, Mark (Lena) Esko, Daniel (Sheri) Esko, Thomas (Sara) Esko, Matthew (Courtney) Esko, and Sennin Esko; special friends, Lexia Erd and Kaveon "KK" Jones; and a host of many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services and Interment will be Private.
