Joseph Walter Wachowiak

Joseph Walter Wachowiak, age 71, of Toledo, OH, passed away peacefully at home. Joseph was born February 28, 1950 in Toledo to Walter and Alice (Markowski) Wachowiak. He was educated at Central Catholic High School and earned several degrees at University of Toledo. He was employed with the City of Toledo, Water Division for 21 years retiring in 2011.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was also preceded in death by his nephew Robert Phillips; brother-in-law Ernie Phillips and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his brother, Kenneth (Monica) Wachowiak; sisters, Emily Phillips and Jackie Koppert; nephews, Timothy, Matthew, Brian, Joshua and John; nieces, Kristina, Justine, Tabitha and Sandra; a host of great nieces and nephews, his best friend/cousin, Frank and many friends.

The family will receive guests Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Caramel Cemetery.
