On Monday May 10th, 2021 James Potts, former Army Veteran, of Toledo, Ohio, at the age of 75, was called home.
He was "a man of many hats" husband, son, dad, papa, brother, friend.
Better known as Jim or "Potts", was a Start graduate, and a retired OMI truck driver. He will be remembered in many ways; a loving husband, who would not leave the house without 20 pecks, and an "I will be back". A helpful father, who could fix everything from cars, to a bad day by telling a dad joke. He will be remembered as a caring papa, in the sound of the clink of a baseball on a bat as a little league coach, and the way you couldn't leave without a hug and a smile on your face.
He will come to mind when a freshly cut lawn has perfect lines, and every time the Ohio State Buckeyes win a game. There is not a person that met him he did not leave an impression on, whether it be a new learned skill or a laugh. Although his journey on this earth has ended his memory will live on. This is not "Goodbye" it's "Tootles".
Jim is survived by Judy, his loving wife of 50 years; children, William, Stacey, Jamie, and Darryl (Jeanette); grandkids, Jesse, Billy, Amanda, Kirsty, Maddie, Katie, Landon, Hunter, Matt, and Brian; 7 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Walt and John Potts.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth (Fleitz) and Walter Potts, along with brother Robert Potts.
