Paul J. Hoddinott, age 63, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at his home. He was born on March 24, 1957, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Harvey and Eleanor (Robinson) Hoddinott.
A graduate of Whitmer High School, he went on to Owens Community College for continuing education. Paul proudly served in the U.S Navy, on the USS Spiegel Grove. While he was in the Navy, he became an electrician and finished his journeyman at Geirkens. He went on to work at GM as an electrician for 25 years. A family man, Paul enjoyed and was known for throwing over the top parties. He loved collecting swords and Viking memorabilia. Paul enjoyed taking rides on his Harley Davidson, where he enjoyed attending the DUX Motorcycle Club, and liked watching Michigan football. Paul was a sixth generation member of the Masonic Lodge. He was the highest level, 33rd Degree.
Paul had many friends throughout the states. He was always doing something and enjoyed every minute of life. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his three children, Matt (Joy) Hoddinott, Alison (Sam) Burton, and Timothy (Amie Cousino) Hoddinott; seven grandchildren; a sister, Cathie (Galen) Bradford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Hoddinott, and the mother of his children, Sharon Barnhart.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, from 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623. Funeral services will take place at 7:00 pm, with the Brother's from the Masonic Temple officiating. For the safety of the Hoddinott family and their guests, masks are required along with social distancing. Burial will take place at a later date.
