Kevin A. Meyer, age 56, a lifelong resident of Toledo, Ohio passed away suddenly Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Toledo Hospital. He was born February 18, 1964 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to William and MaryAnn (Zacharias) Meyer.
Kevin graduated from Whitmer High School. He was employed with American Manufacturing for more than 20 years and Toledo Wire for 15 years before that. Kevin was a die-hard fan of the Michigan Wolverine's and the Toledo Mud Hens. Going to ball games with his son and best friend, Brandon and other family members was something he enjoyed. Kevin was known for his love of pizza so Saturdays were spent at home watching sports of any kind with family and friends and lots of pizza. Kevin was a kind and loving person quietly helping those in need. His family was everything to him, he was lovingly referred to as "Uncle KO" by nephews and nieces. He was also a devoted husband, son, brother, father, grandfather and friend cherishing time spent together over the years.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Diane Meyer; mother-in-law, Susan Kenny and cousin, Jimmy Zacharias. Kevin is survived by his wife and soulmate of more than 20 years, Dawn (Kenny) Meyer; sons, Brandon Meyer, Tyler (Morgan) Pier & Austin (Mackenzie) Pier; mother, MaryAnn (Bill) Dubosh; siblings, Bill (Karen) Meyer, Kim (Ron) Bradshaw, Bob (Hope) Meyer, Michelle (Marco) Polendo, Michael Meyer, Robin (Kevin) Laurenti and John (Tatiana) Meyer. Also left to cherish his memory are many special nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and Kevin's "work family" of friends.
The family will receive guests Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with a service beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The Meyer Family will also host a Celebration of Life to remember Kevin on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 1-5:00 p.m. at Forest View Lanes, 2345 W. Dean Rd. Temperance, MI 48182. Please come and share a memory and a piece of pizza.
