John Meadows
August 20, 1972 — December 31, 2018
John Meadows, age 46, of Holland, passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 31, 2018, but not without leaving his mark on this world. He was born on August 20, 1972 to Edward and Linda (Murphy) Meadows in Toledo.

Academia was his passion. John's degrees included, Dual Spanish and Theater B.A., M.Ed. Secondary Education, M.A. Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Graduate Spanish Certificate, and finally, he was working on a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology.
He was currently employed at Anthony Wayne High School as a Spanish teacher. John had previously been a Spanish Instructor at the University of Toledo and Owens Community College. Also, before teaching at Anthony Wayne High School, he had been a Spanish teacher and union president at Fremont Ross High School and taught at Scott High School. John also taught many courses at BGSU and UT throughout the years.
John was not only a teacher, but a licensed counselor. He was also deeply involved in clinical and mental health counseling. John will be missed for he loved fiercely and was loved by many. He was a beacon of light for his students; their loss may be the greatest.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Inez and Dewey Meadows and Mildred and Harold Murphy. Left to cherish his memory are his close family members; a host of loving friends whom he considered his family; and all of his school families.
Friends and family are invited to visit Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Memorial Services will take place on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with gathering from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Lucas County Pit Crew (www.lucascountypitcrew.com) or to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
