Ruth A. (Lockard) Skinner, passed peacefully at Foundation Park Alzheimer's Care Center Saturday morning January 27, 2018. She was born October 14, 1927 to the late Hurley V. Lockard and Gladys (Lockard) Kummer. Ruth graduated from Whitmer High School in 1945 and then from Flower Hospital School of Nursing, proud to work as a Registered Nurse. While Ruth was preparing to graduate from nursing school, she married the love of her life, James F. Skinner, who preceded her in death in 2014.
Ruth loved and excelled at ballroom dancing. She was exceptionally talented at calligraphy and marketed her own handcrafted greeting cards she called Ruskin 'Riginals.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Mike (Anna) Skinner and Jeff (Terry) Skinner; daughter, Cheri (Rich) Meinke; also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Lois Cross; brother, Robert Lockard; and grandchildren, Andrew James "AJ" Skinner and Cady Ann Skinner.
A devout follower of Jesus, Ruth's life will be celebrated by Christian Services with family and friends invited on Friday from 3 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
