Raymond W. "Uncle Ray" Birch, Jr., age 68, of Toledo, passed away suddenly Sunday, October 29, 2017. He was born on July 3, 1949 to Raymond, Sr. and Vivian (Bunker) Birch in Toledo. Ray graduated from Sylvania High School and then directly joined the military. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country during Vietnam. Ray was a truck driver for many years, most recently with MTS. He was an avid bowler and Nascar fan, enjoyed working on cars, carpentry, and anyone broken. Ray was a jack of all trades and a master truck driver. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children, grandchildren and anyone he knew. Ray will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him and he will leave a lasting imprint on everyone's hearts.
Ray is survived by his loving children, Ray III (Kristie) Birch, Heather Lynn (Robert) Cook, and Phillip Birch; second former spouse, Carol Birch; step-children, Freddy, Sherri Jane, Donna and Billy; third former spouse, Tina (Dalton) Birch; step-children, Tim and Jason (Jayme); 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Billy "Vic" (Scoot) Birch, Linda (Chuck) Kries and Phillip Morris; best friend and left hand, Ray (Jen) Conners; many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Diane Beale, Bonnie Weiler and Christine Kramer; brother, Keith Morris; first former spouse, Teresa Allen.
The family will receive guests on Sunday from 12 – 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Military Honors being rendered at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
