Margaret E. (Kirton) Nowicki, age 91, of Toledo, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Arbors of Sylvania. She was born in Woodford, England on October 18, 1925 to William and Beatrice (Clipston) Kirton. Margaret met her husband, Frank, during World War II and was married on February 10th, 1945. She then settled in the United States in 1946.
She worked for the Toledo Glove Co. as a floor supervisor and instructor. Margaret was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post 642 for 50 years, Past Regent of Daughters of the British Empire and Founding Member and First Past-President of the Commodore Club Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, needle crafts as well as being an accomplished cake decorator.
Margaret is survived by her loving daughter, Dr. Maria Nowicki and brother, William (Hazel) Kirton of Irthlingborough, England; brother in law, Stanley (Marian) Nowicki; in the U.S. one niece and two nephews; one great niece and two great nephews; in England, six nephews, 5 great nieces, one great nephew, two great great nieces and great great nephew. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Frank E. Nowicki; daughter, Christine A. Nowicki; brother, Ben Kirton; sisters, Ina Kirton and Doris Sawford.
The family will receive guests on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 4-9:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. Jennifer Discher officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
