George Daniel Heffern, born January 3, 1939, a gregarious jokester, amazing cook, and proud Irishman, left this earthy place in order to cause trouble in heaven on June 17th, 2017, Toledo, Ohio.
He spent the greatest part of his life selling cars. George starting working with his father at the age of 17 for Ray Caldwell, INC. Later he owned his own car lot "George Heffern Auto Sales," and also wholesaled for various dealerships.
George was an avid hunter and fisherman, living on or near waters surrounding Ohio all his life. He caught and served many a meal to his large family and became the hub of holiday gatherings.
Hefferns around the globe are dismayed he will be hosting these epic parties in the after life; but W.C. Fields is delighted to hear of George's passing- as they now will join together in inappropriate jokes and taunting the less-witted souls in heaven.
George Heffern's infectious personality, irreverent sense of humor, wit, spirited candor, and beautiful green eyes will be deeply missed by all.
George is survived by his wife, Panka "Pat" Heffern; daughters, Dana (Victor LaLoggia) Heffern and Kristie Heffern; siblings, Raymond Heffern, Paul Heffern, Mary (Floyd) Kwiatkowski, Christine Therrien and John Heffern. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Cheuvront.
